Big Opportunities Exist for
Marketers Who Can Tap Into
Buying Power of Today's $1.7 Trillion Mom
Hartford, Conn. - September 13,
2005 - M2Moms -- The Marketing to Moms Conference, October
17-18 at the Chicago Cultural Center, will feature industry
experts sharing insights on today's mom and how to get
her to value, buy and recommend your brand.
"Moms make the most trips,
fill the cart highest and need to be back in the store
more often than any other population segment,"
notes Candace Corlett, Principal at WSL Strategic Retail
and M2Moms presenter. "There are more opportunities
to sell more to moms, but breaking into their multi-tasking
brain is a challenge. Brands and stores need to show
off their creativity to wow moms." Corlett's session,"
Mom's Life is a Shopping Life" will focus on how
to translate what we know about moms into creative ideas
that effectively influence mom to buy your brand.
Nancy Hallberg, group VP-marketing
for The Parenting Group, will discuss moms' perspective
and how it influences purchasing decisions in her M2Moms
presentation, "Are You Talking to Me?". Hallberg
says, "Our new research will show what really matters
to moms across a range of product categories. Marketers
will leave with actionable ideas they can easily apply
to their own efforts to make sure they're really speaking
moms' language."
Some marketing experts believe
there is more than meets the eye for brands targeting
the mom market. "Today's super consumer is actually
a combination of mom and kid," explains Dave Siegel
president of The Wonder Group, M2Moms presenter and
author of The New Super Consumer-the Mom & Kid.
"The Gen X mom and the consensus kid have a partnership
when it comes to what today's moms purchase. In fact,
kids influence most every purchase from what comes into
the house to the house itself," says Siegel. Details
from The Wonder Group's recently completed Influence
Study (July 2005) will be shared, and all M2Moms attendees
will receive a copy of Siegel's book.
